About the author: Allyson Shepard Bailey is an American living in the UK. She studied archaeology at Bryn Mawr College, Sheffield University and Edinburgh University but now works in Research and Development for the NHS. She has always had a keen interest in wildlife and in her spare time she volunteers at two local zoos and is an amateur wildlife photographer.
